200 HOUR ASHTANGA VINYASA TEACHER TRAINING COURSE (PRIMARY SERIES – YOGA CHIKITSA)

Vimoksha Yoga’s 200 Hours Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (Primary series) Teacher Training Course (TTC) is a21 day programoffered by a team of experienced teachers. Our 200hrs TTC is based on the Ashtanga Primary Series taught by PattabhiJois (Mysore-India). Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient system of Yoga that was taught by Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta. Ashtanga yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. During the TTC you will use the practice of the Ashtanga Primary series to build a strong foundation, deepen your understanding of functional anatomy, breath work, and energetic elements within each pose.

Mysore Style is practiced on Saturdays where students get a chance to improve their practice without the teacher leading them but the teacher will be present to adjust the postures if necessary. It is an intense experience that helps to develop a firm foundation of inner discipline.

By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently teach Traditional and modified Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga class suitable for all levels and offer modifications for students with injuries or physical limitations.

  • Complete information about Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series asanas.
  • Asana practice will be of two different style, Led practice and Mysore style practice.
  • Techniques and experience to lead both led and Mysore style practice.
  • Learning Sanskrit names
  • Mantra chanting and meditation.
  • Modifications, other variations and advance variation of all postures
  • How to use yoga props like block, strap & wall in your yoga practice.
  • Observation and feedback on your personal practice by teachers everyday immediately after the asana class
  • Enough class on Partner Yoga(couple yoga) & Yin yoga
  • Method, principle, sequencing, adjusting, benefits and cautions of Yoga postures.
  • Pranayama (breathing techniques), Bandhas (Yogic locked) and Yogic Shatkarmas / Kriyaa (cleansing techniques).
  • Learning to teach yoga classes for beginners & intermediate
  • Anatomy, Physiology and physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga.
  • Basic Ayurveda, nutrition and the yogic diet.
  • Introduction of chakras, nadis& Mudras.
  • Yoga philosophy (eight Limbs of Ashtanga-yoga) with Patanjali Yoga Sutra.
  • Equal attention and consequence will be given for all students.
  • Teaching practicum.

Eligibility

  • Minimum 6 months yoga practitioner only apply for YTTC course
  • Those who are really serious to do YTTC or self-practice only apply for YTTC.
  • YTTC is not for broken bones or serious medical issues.
  • YTTC is not for leisure purpose.
